Activities to Burn Toddler Energy

Play Red Light Green Light

When you shout “green light” the children must all run towards you, but when you shout “red light” they must stop and freeze. Anyone who moves when you say “red light” must go back to the starting line and start again. The object of the game is to cross the finish line as quickly as possible. 



Toddler Circuit Training

Young children's circuit training exercises can include jump rope, hop scotch, throwing balls, jumping in the air, leap frog, shuttle runs, hula hoop, relay races, jumping jacks and dashes, 

Blow bubbles and have your toddler chase them 

Build forts out of blankets 

Build plastic cup towers and knock them down 

Play "don't touch the floor" and make a pillow hopping path from one side of the room to the other 

Bounce on an indoor/outdoor trampoline 

Have a dance party, turn on your favorite tunes 

Go on a Bug Hunt

Play "head shoulders knees and toes," "the hokey pokey" and other song games that get kids moving 

Give your child a large bucket and a ball to throw into it 

Make a tunnel and crawl through it 

Do some  splat painting
