My evaluation plan adheres to the Standards of Program for Evaluation by following all of the necessary steps to conduct an effective program evaluation, while focusing on the standards of utility and feasibility. I have clearly identified and engaged the stakeholders of the peer tutoring program. I have described the program and outlined the focus of the evaluation design. I plan to gather data using a variety of methods that will allow my data to be triangulated and the evidence provided about the effectiveness of the program to be credible. I will justify my findings based off the data I have collected (both qualitative and quantitative). Furthermore, I will share my conclusions through two different presentation methods, and will follow up by sharing what has been observed with what can be learned from this evaluation. This will then inform the next steps provided to the program facilitators, as well as the collaborative engagement that will occur once the evaluation process has been concluded.
My program evaluation design demonstrates the standards of feasibility and utility in many ways. First of all, the manner in which the evaluation will occur will create an inclusive environment, where all stakeholders are involved in the evaluation process and where the process is seen for what it is - a way to improve the program, not simply point out every single flaw, without providing constructive feedback for improvement. Secondly, I will ensure that the evaluation is useful to the enhancement of the program by upholding my responsibilities as previously outlined, and ensuring that the entire process is completed collaboratively. Finally, I will ensure that the suggestions for improvement that are made are feasible to the advancement of the program, and that these suggestions will allow the program to move forward, without compromising it's purpose.
In addition, I will ensure that the standards of propriety and accuracy are also met. In terms of propriety, I will conduct the program evaluation without bias or previous knowledge of the program and it's intention by considering all data collected for what it is. I will also ask for informed consent from all stakeholders, students and teachers before collecting my data, and I will openly provide a detailed description of how and why the data is being collected, how it will be analyzed and how it will be reported. Furthermore, I will uphold the standard of accuracy by reporting my findings for how they appear, without neglecting or disregarding any piece of evidence discovered during the evaluation process.
