These are the major scholarships in our region! Deadlines are coming up soon. Remember that the earlier you apply, the better you chances are!
Sybil B. Harrington - Due 2/1. Must attend college in Texas.
Panhandle Plains Windmill - Due 2/15, including reference responses
Amarillo Area Foundation - Due 3/13 at noon
Los Barrios de Amarillo - Due 3/30
Opportunity Plan - Due 4/1. Funds go directly to students.
Amarillo Women’s Network Due 4/1. For females.

Scholarship Spotlight:
The Thoma Scholars Program
Students from select counties in Northwest Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle and Eastern New Mexico are encouraged to apply to this highly competitive program that provides opportunities to develop strong leadership skills and participate in the Honors College while earning an OSU degree.
The full-ride scholarship will cover the cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, housing, meals, books and other educational expenses for four years. Thoma Scholars will also receive a one-time study abroad scholarship.

Below is a list of mostly local scholarships. I have not updated the deadlines from last year. Most of the scholarships haven't put out a deadline date for this year, but you can assume that they will be close to last year's. I will update my list as they come in, but you can go ahead and start looking at them and start applying to any that are open.

Scholarship
The Brooke Ashton Parker Foundation is meant to be a lasting tribute to Brooke, who was killed in a head on collision by a wrong-way drunk driver on 11/7/2016. She lived a vibrant life and was a strong influence on those that knew and loved her. God was a daily part of her life and she lived her days with passion and joy. Brooke was an over achiever and worked hard at athletics and scholastics and showed determination and grit often surpassing her natural given talents. She served proudly as athletic trainer at Lubbock Cooper Schools. This scholarship is intended to be given to deserving individuals who will go forward in the community, make a difference in the world around them, as well as ease the financial burden of a college education. As we share Brooke's story with you, we hope in turn, you'd share yours with us.
