IMPORTANT: Graduation Requirement
ALL students must satisfy this direct admission requirement in order to graduate high school.
Here are the ways this can be completed:
The student provides documentation that the student has established a profile on the My Texas Future Website and elects to participate in the direct admissions program. (This is your best option!)
The student’s parent or guardian submits a signed form authorizing the student to decline to complete and submit the information necessary to participate in the program (Opt-out). (Form attached below)
The student is 18 years of age or older, or has had the disabilities of minority removed, and signs and submits a form declining to complete and submit the information necessary to participate in the program (Opt-out). (Same form)
IMPORTANT: If you're planning to attend college, the best option is to satisfy this requirement by creating a My Texas Future account and electing to participate in the direct admissions program!
Badger Bound
Amarillo College is proud to announce the launch of the Badger Bound Scholarship Program, a transformative initiative designed to strengthen the educational pipeline and create early access to higher education for students across our entire service area. Students who complete 15 hours of dual credit through Amarillo College qualify for up to 45 hours of free tuition, fees, books, and course materials.

2025 - 2026 FAFSA Information
Real Time Identity Verification
Starting in August, anyone who creates a https://studentaid.gov account with a Social Security Number (SSN) will have immediate verification of their account instead of the current one-to-three day waiting period, thus allowing for immediate transfer of tax information from the IRS. Any user without an SSN will need to follow the identity validation processes currently in place.
Simplified Contributor Invite Process
Student will be able to invite a parent or spouse as a contributor by only entering an email address instead of the contributor's personally identifiable information. A unique non-case sensitive code will be generated and sent to the parent or spouse via email and will allow them to accept the invitation by entering the code on an "Accept an Invite" page or at https://studentaid.gov once they are logged in.
If a contributor starts the FAFSA on behalf of a student, the existing process will be used to invite the student to the form. This is why it is an easier process to allow the student to start the FAFSA and invite their contributor.
