Eureka Math is our Common Core-aligned math curriculum. Our fifth grade math modules will be:

• Module 1: Place Value and Decimal Fractions

• Module 2: Multi-Digit Whole Number and Decimal Fraction Operations

• Module 3: Addition and Subtraction of Fractions

• Module 4: Multiplication and Division of Fractions and Decimal Fractions

• Module 5: Addition and Multiplication with Volume and Area

• Module 6: Problem Solving with the Coordinate Plane

Math instruction will be regularly enriched with thematic problem solving packets and math games.  Students are expected to show mastery of their multiplication facts by successfully answering 100 times-table facts in 4 minutes.

Number and Operations in Base Ten

• Understand the place value system.

• Perform operations with multi-digit whole numbers and with decimals to hundredths.

• Use equivalent fractions as a strategy to add and subtract fractions.

• Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division to multiply and divide fractions.

• Convert like measurement units within a given measurement system.

• Represent and interpret data.

• Geometric measurement: understand concepts of volume and relate volume to multiplication and to addition.

Geometry

• Graph points on the coordinate plane to solve real-world and mathematical problems.

• Classify two-dimensional figures into categories based on their properties.
