BIRTHDAYS
We have one “celebration” per month for all of the birthdays that fall in that month.
I will contact the parents involved at the beginning of each month to schedule a time.
The “celebration” at school is optional.
CLASSROOM/LUNCHTIME SUPPLIES
Throughout the year we will need to keep the following items in stock:
Paper Plates (no Styrofoam, please)
Plastic Ware (spoons and forks)
Napkins
Disinfecting Wipes
Hand Sanitizer
Tissues
Band Aids
*The microwave will be available for lunches. Keep in mind that, on Mondays and Thursdays, the line for the microwave is longer because Close Up lunches are not an option.

AFTER-SCHOOL PLANS
At the beginning of the year, you indicated the usual way that your child would arrive to school in the morning and leave school in the afternoon. I realize that, occasionally, plans change. If a change needs to happen to your child's after-school plans, please contact me to let me know....preferably by noon. (note, text, email) This will help to ensure your child's safety, and it will ease any anxiety that your child may feel if he/she is unsure at the end of the day.
ABSENCES
Due to the use of the online FACTS system, teachers are now responsible for entering students' attendance information. If your child is going to be absent, tardy, or leaving early for any reason, please let me know so I can mark the absence/partial absence or tardy as an excused absence/partial absence or tardy. It will also help me to plan accordingly, especially when it comes to missed work, etc.
MISSED WORK DUE TO AN ABSENCE
If your child misses schoolwork due to an absence, I will do my best to get it home with him/her in a timely manner. Because some days get busier than others, I may not always be able to get it home the day he/she is absent. Also, please keep in mind that some work is easier to send home than others. Things that involve class discussions and/or groupwork will most likely be kept at school until I can go over them with him/her when he/she returns. If your child will be missing school because of a family vacation, my preference is to keep the missed work at school until he/she returns. This helps to ensure that he/she will be getting the same things that we are doing in class while he/she is absent. The number of days that the student misses is the number of days he/she will have to return the missing work. Please contact me if this time frame proves to be difficult, and we can discuss alternate options.
DAILY SCHEDULE
Here is the link to our daily schedule. Some of the times are set because of school schedules (PE, Music, Recess, Lunch, Reading, Math in PM, Library, etc.), while others may sometimes shift around, as needed. This is to give you a basic idea of when things are happening during our day.
