General Graduation Information
Please note the following information and procedures for graduation:
Jostens has made their final delivery on March 6, 2024. All items not received or not paid in full will be mailed either to your home address or the school. If any packages arrive at school, I will contact you to pick up those items. If you did pay in full but missed the delivery date, please stop by the front office to pick up your items.

If you have not picked up your graduation items by March 29, 2024 your belonging will be in the admin office.
Please keep in mind that in order to participate in the graduation ceremony, students must not have any outstanding debts. Additionally, all disciplinary consequences must be served. Finally, students must have completed all other requirements for graduation in order to participate in graduation.
Please check your name in PowerSchool and make sure that the spelling is correct. The information in PowerSchool is what will be written on your high school diploma.
The 2024 Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for May 23, 2024. You should arrive no later than 4:30 pm., so please plan for heavy traffic near the stadium. Our ceremony will start promptly at 6:00 pm. - we WILL start without you. In the event of rain, alternative times will be posted on the Sumter High School website, here and REMIND.
Graduation tickets will be given out at graduation practice. You will receive 10 tickets.

Graduation Checklist
________ Earned 24 required credits minimum (Completed all class, credit recovery, college courses, and virtual classes by deadline )
________ Completed state requirements to be considered College or Career Ready
________ Met All Attendance Requirements (No more than 3 UNEX for quarter classes, 5 UNEX for semester classes, 10 UNEX for year-long courses)
________ Senior Fees & All Other School Fees Paid
________ Order Required Cap, Gown, Stole, Tassel, and Diploma Cover for Graduation (RhodesGraduation.com)
________ Took Senior Pictures
________ Completed FAFSA
________ Applied to Colleges/Technical & Training Schools
________ Updated Resume
________ Completed Required State Assessments (Career Readiness Assessments, EOCEPs)
________ Conference with School Counselor concerning plans after graduation
________ Returned All Textbooks
________ Returned Chromebook or any issued school devices
Based on the Profile of the South Carolina High School Graduate:
Are you College READY? Have you . . . .
Score a composite score of 20 or higher on the ACT
Score a composite score of 1020 or higher on the SAT
Score a 3 or higher on an Advanced Placement (AP) exam
Score a 4 or higher on any International Baccalaureate (IB) higher learning (HL) exam
Complete at least six (6) credit hours in approved dual enrollment courses with a grade of C or higher
Are you Career READY?
CTE completer
Earn a Silver, Gold, or Platinum National Career Readiness Certificate on the WIN/WorkKeys Career Readiness
Earn a scale score of 31 or higher on the ASVAB
Complete a state-approved work-based learning
Complete the South Carolina High School Employability Credential
All seniors will receive an email indicating their status as College-Ready or Career-Ready.
