With the immeasurable support of the Panther Band Alliance, Bonney Lake High School is proud to offer two Award-Winning Guard Programs:
Color Guard (Field Show; Parades; Pep Events) & Winter Guard (Mid-Year Competitions)
(All existing Bonney Lake High School Students and BLHS-bound Middle School Students are eligible to participate)
The Fall Color Guard is an integral part of the Panther Field Show Band, representing our school at marching band competitions on the local, regional, and national stage. Each season, they also take part in community parades, with the Daffodil Parades remaining a beloved annual tradition in spring.
The program continues to grow each year, earning recognition for its excellence and proudly bringing home awards such as High Auxiliary/Color Guard at multiple competitions.
The Panther Band Color Guard welcomes any student with dedication and a strong work ethic. Our program is proud to offer opportunities for all students who wish to be part of this award-winning athletic team.
Unless already participating in the SBLSD Summer Band Program at SHS, the Fall Color Guard season begins with rehearsals in August, with two weeks of band camp. Participation in band camp is required in order to be part of the FSB season.
Once the school year begins, after-school rehearsals continue through September, with competitions scheduled on Saturdays through the first week of November. The season traditionally concludes with the Auburn Veterans Day Marching Competition (Parade + Field Show).
In addition, the Panther Band Color Guard performs with the pep band at all home football games, bringing spirit and energy to our school community! Occasional assembly performances occur as well through the school year.
The Bonney Lake High School Winter Guard begins with tryout workshops, and rehearsals beginning before winter break. The team competes in the local PPA (Pacific Performing Arts Association) Circuit, the NWAPA (Northwest Association for Performing Arts) in Oregon, and the national WGI (Winter Guard International) Circuit. Competitions typically take place from February through late March.
The Winter Guard has a strong tradition of excellence. In 2019, the BLHS Panther Winter Guard won STATE!!
