The National Collegtiate Athletic Assocaition or NCAA is a governing body that is used to help regulate the rules of college sports and protect young athletes. Colleges that are regukated by the NCAA has established rules on eligbility, recruiting, and financial aid. There are three memberships for sports. You have Division I, Division II, and Division III.
When should a student athlete register?
The NCAA recommends that student-athletes register at the beginning of their freshmen year in high school or year nine of secondary school. Click here to register.
For Division I or II, you must complete the Academic and Amateurism Certification account registration before you go on official visits, sign a National Letter of Intent, or receive an athletics scholarship.
There is a fee that needs to be paid to complete your registration.
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics or NAIA is a governing body of small athletics programs that are dedicated to character-driven intercollegiate athletics. The NAIA is within 250 schools across the country.
When should a student athlete register?
The NAIA recommends that student-athletes register at the beginning of their freshmen year but no later than their senior year of high school.
