According to Article VI, section 4, members "shall acquire five service hours each grading period. At least one of these hours must be dedicated to a project defined by the chapter unless the adviser(s) gives permission otherwise."
Consider this your permission for your Q4 paperwork due within the first couple of weeks of school. In other words, you do not need a project-defined service hour during the summer months. You will, however, need to acquire five service hours prior to the due date.
Remember, too, that you must earn hours each quarter of the year. While we encourage you to earn significantly more hours than the minimum, they do not carry over into each new quarter. Even if you earn 100 hours in a single paperwork cycle, you will still need to earn five each cycle afterwards.
See you in August!
