Lesley brings a wealth of experience and empathy to her work with homeschooling families. A graduate of the University of Lethbridge, she earned her B.A./B.Ed. with Honours, majoring in English and Psychology. After graduation, she began her teaching career with the Calgary Board of Education, where she gained valuable classroom experience working with diverse learners and refining her passion for supporting students both academically and personally.
Beyond the classroom, Lesley built a private practice in mentoring, coaching, and teaching, often specializing in supporting individuals with special needs, anxiety, and depression. Her philosophy is grounded in the belief that every person deserves to be met where they are and guided to build strength, resilience, and confidence from that foundation.
Her homeschooling journey began more than seven years ago. With her son with special needs learning at home and her daughter thriving in a homeschool pod, Lesley has lived the realities of both individualized and community-based education. These experiences deepened her passion for helping families find the right path for each unique learner.
Lesley is known for her compassionate presence and her ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both students and parents. She finds joy in creating learning environments that nurture growth, celebrate strengths, and foster resilience. For Lesley, the greatest reward is seeing children grow into capable, confident, and curious learners that are equipped not just for education, but for life.
