Kory loves homeschooling and has been homeschooling her children along with facilitating homeschooling families for many years. It is a true joy for her to be a part of families’ homeschooling journey and she welcomes all the wonderful ways parents choose to homeschool. Kory brings an expertise in Waldorf Education from happily being a part of the Waldorf School in Edmonton for nearly 2 decades through teaching, mentoring as well as wearing various hats within the Waldorf community in Edmonton. Kory’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, majoring in Drama along with various Waldorf specific teacher courses and study. Kory also holds a Radio/Television Arts diploma in the writer/producer program from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Kory has received numerous scholarships as well as local and national awards throughout her education and professional career for her level of excellence in her academics, drama and creative projects as well as films. Kory has been teaching for over 30 years and has taught in the public and private systems as well as community educational facilities. When she began having children, she and her husband chose to have her stay home where she has enjoyed many years focusing on her family and homeschooling both her children at various times throughout their learning along with having them weave into at school learning. Kory is also passionate about family and natural parenting as well as nature, writing, storytelling, singing, creative arts and creating community connection. She lovingly works on her creative projects as well as is a leader in her local neighbourhood community involving natural playgrounds, community gardening and living willow structures.
