In this unit, students will explore diversity as a constitutive feature of identity by identifying the different manifestations that make up the formation of their own self identities as well as the collective identities of different groups.
Unit 2: La Madre Tierra
In this unit, students will explore and reflect about their environmental identity. An environmental identity is one component of the way in which people form their self-concept: a sense of connection to some part of the nonhuman natural environment that affects the ways in which we perceive and act toward the world.
Unit 3: El ritmo que me mueve
In this unit, students will reflect on the vital role that music plays in shaping cultural identities.
Unit 4: El sabor de mi cocina
In this unit, students will explore how foods are shared within communities and cuisine is tightly linked to people’s cultural identities, or the ways they define and distinguish themselves from other groups of people.
