My name is Ms. Trzaska, and I am so excited to start a new school year with you all!
I graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literary Studies, along with double minors in Education and Dance. I received my 7-12 English Instructional Certificate in Pennsylvania through my course of study at Bucknell and now hold an Instructional certificate in grades 9-12 in New Jersey, with this year being my first in a full time teaching position.
I grew up in Maplewood, and am really looking forward to being a part of the strong school community that I know Summit is.
I am excited to get to know each of my students and help them cultivate new skills, deepen their love of reading and writing, and grow as individuals and critical thinkers.
About My Classroom
Technology is limited. Most assignments and readings will be provided in hard copy. Chromebook use will be limited, and cell phone use is not permitted.
Students are encouraged to actively engage in classroom discussion. They will be expected to practice asking questions, sharing their thoughts and opinions, and using text to support these feelings.
Students will be expected to complete reading and/or writing assignments for homework each night and to come into class prepared to discuss.
A.I. use, in any form, is strictly prohibited in my classroom. I will never expect student work to be perfect, nor would I want them to expect that of themselves. I would much rather work with a student on an assignment for which they tried their authentic best, than receive an A.I. generated copy striving for "perfection." Any work confirmed using A.I. will automatically receive zero credit.
