When & where is FLASH? Do we have to pack a snack?
Orientation is Thursday, June 19th, from 11am-12pm. The main program runs from Monday, June 23rd - Friday, July 11th, from 8:30am - 12:30pm, at Franklin Elementary . Snack time is at the beginning of Pd. 3. The district is closed on Friday, July 4th.
Who can attend FLASH?
Rising 1st-8th Grade Summit Schools students.
Rising 1st-3rd Graders sign up for FLASH Jr, which includes four classes: STEM, English-Language Arts, Art, and Physical Education.
Rising 4th-8th Graders sign up for FLASH Pro, and choose their own four classes from a selection of over twenty-five.
Will my child be able to choose his or her own schedule?
FLASH Pro students select their own classes and schedules. FLASH Jr students follow a designated schedule.
When & where can I register? Do we offer a shorter 1-2 week program with prorated tuition?
Registration opens on Monday, February 3rd. We do not offer a shorter program with prorated tuition.
How much does it cost, and what is Summit's tax ID number?
Tuition is $750. Payments made by credit card include a transaction/registration fee of approximately 4%. Summit's Public School Tax ID: 22-6002333
Can I pay by check or cash?

Can I cancel my registration?
No. All registrations are final. Refunds will not be issued. To alleviate concern about unforeseen emergencies, FLASH has partnered with our registration partner, WebConnex, to allow Purchase Protection. When you upgrade your FLASH registration with Purchase Protection, you get peace of mind knowing you’ll get a full refund should certain unforeseen circumstances arise that prevent your child from attending FLASH. What does the orientation involve? Do parents attend the orientation?
It is an opportunity for the kids to have a guided 10min tour, so they can become familiar with their classrooms and schedule. Parents are welcome to attend.
Where can I rent an instrument for my child?
Instrument rental is strongly recommended. The following businesses have supported Summit students in the past:

Summit Public Schools has a limited inventory of instruments available for families in situations where private rental would cause an undue financial burden. If this applies to you, please contact flash@summit.k12.nj.us
Will my child have access to a district-provided device?
Yes. All FLASH students will have access to their district-provided Chromebooks throughout the courses needed at FLASH.
What do I do if my child’s Summit-issued device is having technical difficulties?
