Chromecast is an enlarged thumb drive-sized dongle that plugs into a modern television set's HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port and allows you to stream (or rather cast) media from your existing computer or mobile device through your a WiFi network and onto a TV screen.
Make sure your Chrome browser is updated, and that you are signed in with your G Suite for Education account.
The first time you open Cast for Education, you’re asked to name your receiver—that’s your computer. When students request to share their screens with you, they’ll see the name you gave your computer.
Once you set up Cast for Education, your settings are saved on that device.
To open the extension, click Google Cast for Education . Don't see the extension? Click Menu or More Cast.
Under Receiver name, enter a name for your cast extension, such as Room 301. Click Save.
Click Share .
To invite your students to cast, enter the name of a Classroom class or individual student email address and click Add.
Select a level of access for each student or class:
Can present—Students can cast to your screen anytime you have the extension open.
Can request—Students can request to cast. You need to approve or deny each request.
Note: Students that aren’t on the list won't see the extension in their Chrome toolbar.
Click Close.
Accept a request to cast
To start accepting casts from your students, open the Cast for Education extension on your computer. While the extension is open, you can cast or anyone you've shared the extension with can request to cast or can present if you permitted casting without a request.
Casts appear in your Cast for Education extension on the teacher device connected to the projector.
Make sure your device is updated and that you're signed in with your G Suite for Education account.
In your Chrome toolbar, click Cast . If there is no Cast icon in your Chrome toolbar, click Menu or More Cast.
Click the name of your teacher’s cast extension, such as Room 301.
(Optional) To switch between casting your whole screen and your current tab, click Cast to and make a selection.
Your screen casts to the Cast for Education extension on the teacher’s computer.
Plug in Chromecast.
Install the Google Home app by downloading the Google Home app on your Chromecast-supported Android device.
Make sure to connect your mobile device or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network that you intend to use to set up your Chromecast device.
Open the Google Home.
Follow the steps.
If you don’t see the steps to set up your Chromecast:
At the top left of the Google Home app home screen, tap Add + > Set up device > Set up new devices.
Follow the remaining steps.
Set up is successful. You're all done!
If set up didn’t work, try the following steps:
To reboot: Open the Google Home app, Tap your Chromecast device, At the top right corner, tap Settings-> More settings-> Reboot.
To reset: Open the Google Home app, Tap your Chromecast device, At the top right corner, tap Settings-> More settings-> Factory Reset.

Plug Chromecast into your Projector, then connect the USB power cable to your Chromecast. Plug either the other end of the USB power cable into an open USB port on your TV OR into the included power adapter which you will then plug into a power outlet.

To show Chrome on your TV, you’ll need:
A Chromecast, Chromecast Ultra, or TV with Chromecast built-in.
A computer and Wi-Fi network with the minimum system requirements.

On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click More Cast.
Choose the Chromecast device where you want to watch the content.
If you're already using the Chromecast, your content will replace what's on your TV.
When you're done, to the right of the address bar, click Cast Stop casting.
When your tab is being shown on a TV, you'll see Display .
To the right of the address bar, next to your extensions, you'll see Active Cast .
To use a shortcut in Chrome, add the Cast button.
On the video or media you're watching, click Cast .
You'll see the video or images on your computer and TV, but you’ll only hear sound on your TV. Sounds for other tabs and apps will still play on your computer.
You can display your entire computer screen using Chrome on Mac, Windows, and Chromebooks.
Note: To hear audio on your TV, use a Windows computer.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click More Cast.
At the top, next to "Cast to," click the Down arrow .
Click Cast desktop.
Choose the Chromecast device where you want to watch the content.

Click Cast file.

Connect your mobile device, tablet, or computer to a Wi-Fi network.
The mobile device, tablet or computer you are using to cast must be on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast or TV with Chromecast built-in. Note: To allow guests to cast without being on your Wi-Fi network, please read How to set up guest mode.
You must be running the latest version of the Chromecast-enabled app. You can always double check that you are on the latest version by visiting the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and checking for any app updates.
Make sure the mobile device, tablet or computer you are using to cast is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast or TV with Chromecast built-in.
Open a Chromecast-enabled app.
Tap the Cast button . Note: The Cast button isn't located in the same place on all Chromecast-enabled apps.
Tap the device you'd like to cast to.
When you're connected, the Cast button will turn color, letting you know you're connected.
You can now cast videos, movies and TV shows directly to your TV or Projector.
To stop casting, tap the Cast button Disconnect.
