The Life Aquatic (With Steve Zissou)

Inspiration

This project was made during my Sophomore year of college. The goal was to learn how to use motion capture on a single character, but I decided to go above and beyond and create a scene based on one of my favorite films, "The Life Aquatic (With Steve Zissou)."

Coral

Creating the models was a blast. I spent a lot of time researching different species of coral in order to give my scene a much better sense of biodiversity.

I also created several sea creatures in order to give more life to the project! Here are some of my favorites:

I experimented with an IK rig to get realistic tail fin movement!

Deep Search

The Deep Search sub from the movie was also created. Though you can't see it from the inside, this is what it looks like form the outside!
