Data Security at SU

The Shenandoah University Mission Statement asks us to "Inspire individuals to be critical, reflective thinkers; lifelong learners; and ethical, compassionate citizens who are committed to making responsible contributions within a community, a nation and the world". In that spirit, the information provided on this site is part of a campaign to raise awareness regarding the data security needs of Shenandoah University.

It is very important, as we go through our busy days, that we stay vigilant to do our part in securing the university's information. In today's world, a properly informed user can be as effective at deterring data loss as the software installed on our computer systems or the utilities that monitor our networks.

A lot of effort is put in to policies and procedures to help insure that the right people have access to the right information and that information is secured from others who do not need access. Most often, your password is the only thing keeping others from getting access to the university's protected information.
