What are the Different types of Degrees?
The Discovery Degree in FFA recognizes middle school students for their early involvement in agriculture, leadership, and FFA activities. It requires participation in chapter events and community service.
The Greenhand Degree is the first level of FFA recognition for high school students. It honors their active participation in FFA, completion of basic agricultural education, and involvement in chapter activities.
The Chapter Degree is awarded to FFA members who have shown leadership, active participation in chapter activities, and progress in their agricultural studies. It recognizes a higher level of involvement and achievement within the chapter.
The Iowa Degree is awarded to FFA members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, involvement in FFA activities, and achievement in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). It recognizes a high level of dedication and accomplishment in agriculture.
The American Degree is the highest FFA honor, awarded to members who have shown outstanding leadership, dedication, and achievement in their SAE, FFA involvement, and agricultural education. It recognizes exceptional accomplishments in the field of agriculture.
