Worldwide Fund for Nature

WWF works to look after our natural resources - land, oceans, and wildlife - so we can continue to benefit from food, water, and a healthy climate.

WWF is an independent conservation organization, with over 30 million followers and a global network active in nearly 100 countries. Our mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which people live in harmony with nature, by conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption. WWF South Africa is a national office that is part of the WWF network. We are a local NGO that for more than 50 years has been working to ensure a sustainable and equitable future in which humans and nature thrive.

The WWF website has a host of information and publications covering all aspects of their work. You can browse information in themes such as land, our oceans, wildlife, food, and the climate emergency.

The organisation also offers exciting opportunities for young people with a passion for protecting our natural environment. An upcoming bootcamp will see 25 young people gather as part of the Youth Climate Champions (YCC) programme. You can find out more about the programme and make an application to join the bootcamp here.

WWF’s Graduate Internship

WWF Green Careers

By working closely with our partners in the academic and environmental sectors, WWF develops and maintains career materials to encourage careers for a green economy. Through WWF’s Green Careers project, we provide toolkits for promoting green careers in schools, colleges, universities and the workplace.

You can find the Green Careers Toolkit here.
