Coral Reefs

Did you know that coral reefs are home to 500 fish species, 350 mollusks and marine animals, algae, and seagrass? Coral reefs do all of that while staying still! According to Staista.com, the average coral reef is “around 97,700 square miles'' More than 150 countries have a coral reef within their borders, and over half of the world’s coral reefs are found within six countries: Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and the Maldives. The climate of coral reefs is tropical to semi-tropical. The average temperature is “between 73° and 84° Fahrenheit'' says Oceanservice.noaa.gov. Coral reefs bring life, food, medicine, and recreation to many species.
