Green Sea Turtles And Our Oceans

There are so many amazing things about the ocean, it is home to millions of different species of plants and animals! Did you know that according to (USGS.gov) the oceans contain 96.5% of the earth's water! In fact the largest chain of mountains is under water and stretches 65000 km, according to trafalgar.com. Our oceans are huge! It’s no wonder that so many animals call the ocean home. In fact, according to (kealakai.byuh.edu )94% of all of earth's wildlife lives in the ocean!

The oceans are so amazing and there are so many things to learn about the oceans are amazing but it's not just the ocean that's amazing it's the animals that live in it , one of those being the green sea turtle! “The green turtle is the largest species of hard-shelled sea turtles and the second largest next to the leatherback turtle among all sea turtles.” According to (oceana.org). Did you know that according to (fisheries.noaa.gov) Female green turtles go on shore and lay around 110 eggs per clutch and lay up to 12 clutches of eggs per year! Unfortunately Green sea turtles are endangered which means they are at big risk of going extinct. Between 85,000 and 90,000 nesting females are left in the wild according to (conserveturtles.org). There are so many cool things about green sea turtles!
