Define the Problem
Our problem is to pick one of the fourteen Grand Engineering Challenges and find a solution to that challenge.
I decided to pick the engineering better medicine challenge. We must engineer better medicine as to get rid of disease for us to live longer, healthier and happier lives.
Must brainstorm 5 ideas
Must make a decision matrix to pick out the best 3 ideas
Must make functional and visual analysis for those 3 ideas
Must make 3D models of those 3 ideas
Must be complete by April 25th
May not have help from other people
Must find a way to solve the problem
Only have 90 seconds to complete the presentation
Why did I decide on Engineering Better Medicine?
I decided to pick engineering medicine for my project as it gave me the most creative options, is still a problem we are far from solving and peaked my interest the most. Engineering better medicine means that I will have to find medicines/cures for illness and disease. With this project I only have to create an idea of the solution, so I can simply think up a crazy medicine into existence. Engineering better medicine is a problem that might never be completely solved as new diseases and challenges rise as time moves on. In fact some might even argue that finding a way around death could be considered a medicine meaning that my solutions could extend to the realm of immortality. I have always had an interest in the medical field, as I come from a family of doctors and pharmacists, so I felt that this suited me best compared to the other challenges, In conclusion, I chose the Engineering Better Medicine challenge out of my own personal interest and the shear amount of creativity and options I could use.

Review body is a 6'1" foot tall all white mechanical suit. Although it resembles a human body it does have bunnylike legs for jump strength, bearlike arms for arm strength and birdlike feet for a stronger grip.
When a person's body is in a critical state and can not recover that person may turn to Renew Body, through surgery their brain will be placed into the renew capsule in the head of the mechanical suit. The limbs of the body function very similarly to the human body, so the user can easily adjust to their new body. The suit will come with a jetpack attached to revolutionize the way we travel close distances. Since the suit is fully mechanical no disease could ever penetrate it, which nearly gets rid of all the plague in the world.

The CRISPR/Cas9 Cell is a 10 micrometer (0.01 millimeter) robotic cell that contains CRISPR/Cas9 technology within it. The squiggly line at the front is a strand of DNA. In the back is a propeller with 3 blades.
The CRISPR/Cas9 Cell is made to travel through the bloodstream using its propellers to navigate through. Once the cell finds a pathogen (harmful bacteria/virus) it proceeds to replace the DNA of the organism with the DNA attached to the cell. This DNA will be a dysfunctional strand causing the organism to die shortly after. Then another strand is placed outside the cell for the next pathogen. These cells will be distributed among the body using shots, which should be injected once a year.

The Anti Aging pill is simply a 1cm x 3cm x 1cm pill. The drug inside the pill is called eurekine.
The Anti Aging pill like any other pill is swallowed through the mouth so that it can then dissolve in your stomach and be absorbed into your bloodstream. The dissolved material is absorbed by the many cells it comes into contact with and once that happens the cellular reprogramming process begins. The eurekine tricks the cell into thinking that it is young thereby changing the cells identity. Once this happens the cell can perform mitosis more accurately reducing the risk of mitosis failure. The advantages of this include clearer skin, reduction in wrinkles, longer athletic primes, better muscle recovery and many more.

Reflection
I believe my solution was successful as my goal was to help guide the research for engineering better medicine. The CRISPR Cell would be able to single handedly kill all pathogens in the human body, which will get rid of the need for any other medicine. Then the Anti-Aging Pill will be able to slow down the aging process, which will allow people to live longer, healthier and happier lives. I do believe that the Renew Body would've been better than the Anti-Aging Pill as it would've required a more complex design and if used correctly it could end up making people immortal, eliminating the need for medicine. The only problem with it being that the onshape design would've been too complex to build with my abilities. The Robotic Bed would've been able to revolutionize surgery and get rid of the risk of human failure, but it wasn't an original idea. Then the 3D Limb Printer was simply a bad idea as we already have the ability to print limbs. I didn't have many struggles with the project outside of the research paper as I was running out of things to write about. I also struggled with finding a 5th idea, so I improvised with the 3D limb printer. Both 3D models were easy to make and I was able to make them look exactly how I wanted them to look. Engineering Better Medicine impacts me because both my parents are pharmacists so my whole life I've always been fascinated by how medicine saves and extends our lives. Then when I was 7 years old I had tonsillitis and it hurt to just speak. We tried everything until I had to get surgery and get my tonsils removed. Ever since then I have been grateful for new medicines as I know that that medicine will help improve or even save someone's life.
Anti-Aging Pill Marketing Plan
The Anti-Aging Pill wouldn't need much advertising as millions of people search for aging reversal products every year. It would also be recommended by doctors as there are no negative effects and can only help improve people's lives. The pill is designed for people at the age above the age of 50 as after turning 50 people's health decline increases exponentially. It still may be used by anyone who is done developing (ideally at 25) as using it at an adolescent age would result in growth and hormone problems. This product would slow down the aging process, which means healthier and longer lives, smoother skill, longer athletic primes, increase in muscle recovery and many more benfits. The pill would be able to improve performance in nearly every aspect of life.
CRISPR/Cas9 Cell Marketing Plan
The CRISPR/Cas9 Cell wouldn't need any marketing as it would be part of the yearly physical. The cell is meant for everyone as it will eliminate the need for any other medicine or vaccine. You may choose whether you want to take it or not, it will not be forced on people of course. Millions of cells will be in a syringe that will then be put into the body to fight off pathogens. Once the cell reaches a pathogen it injects a strand of dysfunctional RNA that will soon after kill of the pathogen. This would get rid of nearly all diseases, which will result in people living longer and healthier lives.
