About Green turtles

General information:

Did you know that green turtles are one of the largest turtles and the only herbivores among different species of turtles?  According to worldwildlife.org, they weigh ”150-400 pounds” and are “31-47 inches.” The green turtle has a green back, small head, big eyes, and a circle pattern. On the website NOAA Fisheries (.gov) it says “Green turtles eat algae, seagrass, invertebrates, and discarded fish.” My favorite interesting fact about the green turtle is that a group of them with darker backs are called black turtles!

Isn't it interesting how many places green turtles can live? Green turtles can be found in the “Mesoamerican reef, Coastal East Africa, Coral triangle, the Galapagos, and the Pacific ocean.” (worldwildlife.org)  According to NoAA Fisheries (.gov), “Green turtles live solitary.” On the website quora.com it says ”They'll stay close to mom for about a month to 6 weeks.”(Referring to baby sea turtles) My favorite fact about sea turtles is that they have been around for a very, very, long time!
