“Humans are the biggest threat to Radiated Tortoises, from habitat destruction to their consumption. It is thought that remaining populations have seen an 80% reduction in numbers over just three generations and those inhabiting south Madagascar's higher plateaus are even worse affected.” (a-z Animals) Radiated Tortoises are very important species. You should not cut down trees because logging destroys habitats for animals including the Radiated Tortoise.

Radiated Tortoises are a very important species. They have recently been introduced to the island Reunion. Radiated Tortoises are second level consumers. Because they eat plants, but also eat small animals every now and then such as small insects, they are 2nd level consumers. If Radiated Tortoises went extinct it would disrupt the whole food chain the Radiated Tortoise lies in.
