Threats

According to the Conservation groups, “there are only 15,000 wild jaguars left”. This decrease in the amount of jaguars is mostly due to poaching, deforestation, cutting down trees, and building dams. This makes me feel devastated because the jaguars are following their daily routine and might die because of so many reasons. Also if a jaguar gives birth to a little one and just passes away because of deforestation the mother will be very sorrowful. What might happen if there are no more jaguars left in the wild? Since jaguars are apex predators nothing can eat them. The tertiary consumers will overpopulate because there will be no jaguars to eat them. Jaguars are important because they balance the food chain. How would you feel if jaguars went extinct because of us, not mother nature. The jaguar species will become extinct.
