In my initial lesson plan and reflection, I had the opportunity to delve deep into the intricacies of designing effective learning experiences. The TEACH 111- Literacy paper equipped me with the essential knowledge to craft learning activities that are rooted in a comprehensive understanding of curriculum and pedagogical practices. Furthermore, I developed the ability to leverage assessment data to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of each learner, accounting for their individual strengths, interests, identities, languages, and cultural backgrounds. In my role as a trainee teacher, I utilized a comprehensive lesson plan as the initial phase of structuring a lesson. Having a great lesson plan would benefit the lesson's effectiveness and efficiency. During today's lesson, I had a realization about the potential benefits of integrating technology into teaching practices. Specifically, I believe that leveraging technology for visual instruction could greatly enhance students' understanding of the material. I had noticed that some students struggle to grasp concepts as soon as they are introduced by the teacher, and it became clear to me that providing visual instruction could offer valuable support to these students. By incorporating visual aids and technology, we can better cater to the diverse learning needs of our students and foster a more inclusive learning environment.

In formulating this lesson plan, I drew on insights gained from a scholarly paper on conceptual understanding in mathematics (MTH 100-24A). By deeply engaging with the curriculum, I customized the lesson to meet pedagogical demands while taking into consideration the diverse strengths, abilities, and proficiency levels of each student. I meticulously tailored my teaching strategies to accommodate the unique needs and strengths of individual students, ensuring that the lesson was finely tuned to align with their specific requirements. Additionally, I purposefully integrated Te Reo Maori into the lesson to actively contribute to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership in New Zealand. After thoroughly studying the content of the 101 paper, I was able to develop a comprehensive plan for a practical Te Reo Māori lesson. The central theme of this lesson revolves around the question, "Ke te pēhea koe?" Delving deeply into the curriculum, particularly "Te Aho Arataka Marau Mō te ako i te Reo Māori (2009)," enabled me to select the lesson's achievement objective and learning outcome carefully. The ultimate goal of the lesson is to ensure that students can confidently inquire about and express their feelings to one another. The insights gained from various academic papers have greatly assisted me in devising effective teaching strategies and post-activity plans to ensure that students actively engage, participate, learn, and feel a sense of belonging.
