To learn more about shading and how it affects the view. We also learned how to use perspective and close we could make it 3d.
I started out doing a sketch of what the diorama would look like. Like typing it out on my computer. Then, I got my items, which were sycamore leaves, small wood pieces, cardboard, newspaper, and my table to draw my diorama. The diorama took a decent amount of glue and newspaper. After, I laid the newspaper down and let it dry. Then, I mashed newspaper together glued the bottom together, and let those sit. Then I added the bark to the newspaper wads with each wad getting one bark. Then I tore up the leaves laid the leaves down on the ground and added some to the newspaper wads. I used the stems of the leaves to the wads.
The meaning behind my diorama is supposed to be a wildfire caused by a lump of burnt coal from a controlled fire in the woods. That is why my diorama looks like it does.
I used dark coloring of the lighter colors. I used the shading under of the wads, bark, the leaves. The lighting coming from up top of the diorama. The light hits the top of the items and gives it more color. I used the different values by darkening in the places that looked dark and faded out if not under the newspaper wads.
I asked my teacher if I needed to shade anywhere else and asked if I needed to add more stuff. She said to add the shading at the bottom to the newspaper wads. Then said to add some lighting to the top of the newspaper wads. Then, I asked for help with the leaves. She sketched out an example for me, then I went to draw the leaves on my table.
We got to get at 50 lines going to the vanishing point and either do one point-linear, two point-linear or three point-linear perspective. I fulfilled requirements, by doing the 50 lines and doing one point-linear perspective.
I wanted to either do a throne room or outside scenery. I chose the second, because I wanted to practice outdoor scenery with two dragons, four main focus buildings, background buildings, water, mountains and a castle. Which was hard to do, and good practice for backgrounds.
The improvements from the mallia paper to the water color paper was the more space and I got to add more stuff to the scenery. I got to add some detailed stuff but not much though. I got help from my teacher by showing me how to fix a building that I drew and asked for help on. Then the teacher helped me with the windows and another building. I didn’t ask for help with any of my peers. The most challenging was the perspective. It was awkward when I redrew the building that my teacher helped me with. Then getting the little buildings in the background to line up with the vanishing point. The most enjoyable part of this project was the coloring. I had fun doing watercolor painting. Which was my second time using it and I think I got better at it since last time.

Kehinde Wiley
I researched Kehinde Wiley. He uses a large-scale oil painting using real people as models. He uses realism for his paintings. He takes different inspirations, such as Contemporary fashion.
The painting has shown me how to do more of the realism that Kehinde Wiley uses in his paintings. I used some flora patterns that are seen in Kehinde Wiley’s paintings. I did somewhat of realism, Kehinde Wiley does realism and it is nice.
I think I did pretty well with the blending of light and shadows. I did decent with proportions, all although I had to simplify some parts of the painting, such as the hair. I would like to improve the backgrounds, making the backgrounds more smoother. The less successful area is the face. I wish it was a little more even. The criteria that I set for myself, I did pretty well with the criteria that I set for myself.
I refined my hair to make it look smooth as it can be. I had some feedback on the background and skin color for the paint. I used it to my best of abilities.
