I researched Mark Demsteader. His style is more of lighter colors with the face being the main subject and the clothing of the model being loosely dragged down the button of the painting. The meaning behind his painting is to show expressions through his artwork. He wants the people seeing the art to feel some type of way with enduring everything in the painting. I learned from him by being patient with my work. It is similar to my artist style being it is a girl and the face is the main subject and like the middle of the body is dragged down the page loosely. I feel like I matched skin tone and hair color very well. I would like to improve my shading throughout the face and neck. The less successful areas would probably be the hoodie part of the artwork, I feel like I could've been more successful with that. The criteria was to be patient and trust the process of the work, I feel like I met well with those areas of criteria. As I worked I changed the face color a lot because I feel like it didn't meet my expectations, because it should've been a little more pink throughout the cheeks because that's what my photo showed. I received good feedback from my peers, and I received feedback from my teacher to create more shading and brush lighter and work up the paint. I used that feedback by trying my hardest to produce what they said. I used my class time very well, I worked everyday, creating new shades of color, new details on the painting, new mistakes, and new improvements throughout this whole project. I didn't really do much outside of class time because I used it all during class.
This painting was included in a series that the artists did with Emma Watson. During the time he spent doing this he studied and drew the human form. He also developed his own technique or style of artwork. Demsteader depicts the female form by showing strong use of lines and emotions.

Imagined Space Painting
During the time I spent on this painting I learned how to line everything up and make every detail in the painting look 3D. I made sure to make my lines come from the vanishing point so everything looks like it's supposed to. I spent a lot of time trying to make the painting look good and have thought out details. I learned how to draw in a 2 point perspective which is where the drawing has 2 vanishing points and lines are being drawn from to create shapes and straight lines in the drawing/painting. I painted with water colors for the first time also.
