All new courses are setup as elementary courses in K8 schools. To edit your settings - follow the steps below.
The Homework category must be removed from gradebooks in 6th-8th grades.

Objective: To meet Board policy IHA-R (1) , the Homework category must be removed from the grade book calculation in K-8 Middle School gradebooks.
1. From the charms bar, select Settings> Traditional Grade Calculations.
2. Click the pencil in the Quarter 1 row to edit the calculations.
3. Remove the Homework category from the calculation by clicking the ( - ) minus sign.
4. Adjust the calculation so that the weight in the Assessment category is increased to 60%. The Classwork category will remain 40% per BOE policy.
5. Copy the settings to all quarters of the selected class.
6. Copy the settings of the entire class to all other classes.

Inactivate Categories
Inactivate Categories
A great feature of PowerTeacher Pro is the ability to inactivate categories that are no longer used. Say, “Adios!” to the days of placing an X in front of categories that appear out of nowhere!
To inactivate a Category: (Do this for all categories you don’t plan to use)
- From Grading>Categories, Click the Pencil (Edit) icon beside the category you need to deactivate.
- Click the Inactive radio button
- Save and Repeat if necessary.
