The beginning of our process is less than ordinary to say the least. We had the bright idea (Sarcasm ahead) of breaking apart a brand new mouse trap out of the bag and making it our base. When Mr. Williams found out he was less than thrilled about what we had done. We right away had the idea of using rubberbands as our alternative energy source (Spring potential energy). Most people used this specific energy for their cars. From then on we knew what energy we were going to use and what the design of our car would be.
At the beginning of testing our car was decent in terms of distance. It went around 3m everytime. Then we decided to try and make modifications and our car only would go around a meter everytime. This really put us behind the curve. After some help from Ms. Vogl and Mr. Williams we were able to get a video of our car going 3m. That was not 5m but it was better than a meter. After that I did our calculations and both of my other group members worked on the presentation we would present for Finals (Above). If you haven't taken a look you should. That was the process of our car!
Two things I feel I learned about myself or did well was taking the initiative (Conscientious Learner) and asking questions (Critical Thinking). I felt I did a good job of taking initiative for my group and for myself. We definitely needed it. My group are great workers, but they often needed a 'push' to get going and working. I felt I did a good job of questioning things and asking hoe things could be better, why they are the way they are andwhat is the best way to do the task at hand. By doing this I feel our group got the best solution for most things we were unsure about and I learned why we were doing what we were doing, something that will serve me well for the rest of my life. One more positive about our group was our integrity (Character). Our car somehow got worse when we tried to make modifications to it. We fixed the problem and got back to work. The two things I want to work on and get better in the future is Solution finding (Critical Thinking) and Goal Setting (Conscientious Learning). I say solution finding because we were great at asking questions but not finding solutions for ourselves. In the real world there will not always be someone to help you or give you the answer. I chose goal setting as the second thing I need to improve at because I felt like we never knew what we needed to do. Like we had an idea but we never had a goal or things we wanted to get done in the day. Something I have learned from C.C.R, is you cannot succeed without long- term goals or just goals in general. Overall I felt we did a satisfactory job on this porject and I learned a lot from it.
