Build a Band

Objective

We had a lot of fun building, writing songs, and practicing our instruments throughout the course of this project. This project's objective was to create four unique instruments from the three distinct categories in order to form a band. We had to design our instruments so that they could perform an entire octave of eight notes. I made chimes and spent 3 daysworking on the it.

Frequency refers to the number of vibrations or waves per second, which is denoted by the variable "f" and measured in meters per second (m/s). The frequency can be calculated using the equation f = v/λ or f = 1/t.

Amplitude is the distance between the midpoint and the highest point of a wave. It is represented by the variable "A" and measured in meters (m).

Wavelength is the distance between two adjacent wave crests or compressions, and it is represented by the variable "λ" and measured in meters (m). The wavelength can be calculated using the equation λ = v/f.

Wave speed, or the velocity of a wave, is denoted by the variable "v" and measured in meters per second (m/s). The equation for wave speed is v = λf.

A transverse wave refers to the particle motion that is perpendicular to the direction of wave motion, whereas a longitudinal wave is when particles compress and rarefy as wave energy moves along with parallel particle motion.

The electromagnetic spectrum refers to the range of all kinds of electromagnetic radiation, including radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, x-rays, and gamma rays.

Perseverance: During the project, my instrument kept breaking, which presented me with a major challenge. However, despite the project's challenges, I persisted and continued to work on it. This demonstrates my strong will to overcome challenges and accomplish my objectives, which is a quality that is necessary for any project or task.

Critical Thinking: In order to produce a cohesive sound that appealed to our target audience, I was able to evaluate the abilities, passions, and preferences of each band member throughout the project. This demonstrates my capacity for critical analysis as well as my ability to recognize strengths and flaws in order to assemble a cohesive musical ensemble.

For the following project, I want to continue focusing on two things:

Time management: I had trouble remaining focused throughout this project, which might have left me with less time to finish tasks. Thus, honing my time management techniques will enable me to work more effectively and productively on the following assignment.

Collaboration is a crucial component of any project, even though I was able to work separately quite well. As a result, I want to practice my collaboration skills, like active hearing and effective communication, to enable me to work with others more successfully toward a shared objective.
