The Process
This was our second project of the 9th grade STEM-Engineering class. We had a few weeks to work on this project with a group of 3-4 people. For this project we were told to pick any sport and make a video explaining one the the imporant steps used in that sport. You also had to create a storyboard, a script, film and edit a video, and find the mathematics behind the video of that sport. Our sport was volleyball.
This video helps educate new/beginning volleyball players how to do a volleyball hit.
Force of impact - Total impact force on something. The formula is F=m/a.
Horizontal velocity- Average speed on a flat surface within no outside forces
Vertical velocity- Velocity of a falling object going up or down
Total Velocity- Total velocity
Convervation of Momentum- To determine the conservation of momentum, you need to calculate the intial momentum, the final momentum, and then compare the total momentum.
Reflection on Physics of Sports Video
For this being our second proect of the year, I really enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun working with my group mates and collaborating with them. As a team we worked together to film edit, and storyboard our video. I think I was a lot better prepared for this project and I had fun learning new things behind the physics of volleyball hitting.
For this project I think I took a good role in leadership and showing my knowledge in volleyball. Last project I wasn't as much involved as I was in this project and I think we accomplish this project very efficiently. We used lots of colloboration and communation to help us complete this project.
I think everyone in my group took part in their role with this project to help complete it effiently. We all provided help for one another and all the work was distributed evenly. Overall I had a great time with this project had had fun learning new things.
