The main goals of phase three of our capstone design project were to review our progress, identify the best parts of our design, and report our findings to the STEM board. Assignments from this project portion as well as our STEM Board presentation are given below.
For my group and me, the Capstone Design Step 3 went well. We produced a lot and improved our prototype quite a little. We excelled in two areas: critical thinking and collaboration. Working on the prototype after gathering all the necessary components and proactively assigning each other tasks to complete during the construction and presentation process, we showed off excellent teamwork. We also showed critical thinking by coming up with several solutions to our difficulties and using data and research to support our decisions.
Character and communication were two areas where we could have done better. Although we made some progress from Capstone Design Steps 1 and 2, there is still opportunity for improvement in these areas in upcoming project phases. Being more considerate of one another is always something we can do to better ourselves. We should also work on improving our communication because there have been occasions when we have given members false information about when the components will arrive. We also need to start communicating more with our mentors and also use our time more efficiently in class. I am interested in seeing how this project will play out and I'm sure we will critically think our way in constructing this product.
