When Louis was 41, he finally became a citizen of the United States of America. He was already "American" by this point with his Oldsmobile, tailor shop, and newspapers. My grandfather said, "One of the proudest moments of his life was becoming a citizen. That completed and established his cultural change from Russian to American life."
