Obviously, Seb is going to have a lot more English traits than he will have American traits. He is a big soccer fan, or as he calls it, football. When it comes to the international stage, he is a massive England fan, and when England tied America in the World Cup, my friends and I gave Seb relentless grief for it. He is also a fan of Norwich City FC. Seb currently plays for the Marvin Ridge High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team, however, they lost in the playoffs this year. Seb also is very patriotic towards England. He frequently gets into debates with friends over which country is better at what thing: England or America (it's America, duh). When Queen Elizabeth II died, he was understandably very saddened by the news. Seb considers himself more English than he does American, however, he doesn’t consider himself solely American or English. This is evident in the fact that he has an incredibly strong accent, however, he doesn’t use all of the slang.
Having lived in England for thirteen years, Seb’s English traits are very engrained in his personality. That being said, he still holds some American traits. For example, he doesn’t use British slang such as “lou” or “boot” to describe a toilet or car trunk. Seb also has adopted a more American approach to some sports, such as coming around and enjoying the vastly superior football: American Football. Seb also wants to pursue college in America, rather than return home to England to go to college.
Seb’s life in America has been a fun one so far. He has many friends in both Needham and Waxhaw, and he has made an impact on both of those communities. He plans to continue with college in America, where he hopes to either play soccer or run track. Overall, I am glad to have Seb as a friend, and I am glad his dad’s job got him to come over to the US.
