Life After Being an Au Pair

Liza After Graduating

While being an au pair in Wellesley, Liza started taking classes at Wellesley College. While studying there, she took a class about Biotechnology and with the inspiration of the Cardins, her host family, she told herself she wanted to pursue a career in Biotech. After Being an Au Pair, she studied at Mass Bay Community College, taking classes in Biology and Chemistry and majoring in Biotechnology. She describes that it was definitely different to switch from focusing on linguistics to focusing on Biology and Chemistry, but that her new career focus is very fulfilling.

After studying and having lived in Los Angeles and New York for a couple of years, she got a job in Boston in the Biotech field. Her company works with first gene therapy and makes drugs for hemophilia-B, so she feels like what job is now is impacting the world in a greater way.
