Arrival in the US
At the young age of 21, Deepa moved from Chennai, India to Pennsylvania. She loved traveling, and wanted to try something new, so decided to move to America on a consulting job. However, this was not the first move she made. Before coming to the United States, she lived in Singapore doing an internship. She said that at the time she was "open to learning and was focusing on the common denominators vs the differences in culture".
The travel time from Chennai to Boston is over 21 hours long!

Frequent flyer
Before settling in Massachusetts, Deepa lived in PA, CA, VA, FL and MI! Since she came on a consulting gig, she had the opportunity to move around a lot. She said that it was a time where she "loved traveling and wanted to know" herself.
Why MA?
When asked why she chose to live long term in Massachusetts after traveling for so long, Deepa said "MA is rich in culture ... look around and you see so many colors of skin, eyes and hair. The people are smart and educated". She described it as what she loved about America.
