Chapter Officers aid advisors in running and maintaining LM-TSA. They have the responsibility to plan outreach events, organize fundraisers, evaluate runoffs, and prepare for conferences. Among them is the President, who represents the chapter and serves as the main voice of the officers. In the Spring, applications will be posted for any qualified member (see Bylaws) who is interested in applying for Chapter Officer. After submitting an application, the candidates will be interviewed by the advisors and 3 new officers will be selected.
Do you want to make an impact on a state level? Consider joining one of Pennsylvania TSA's many committees. Each committee handles specific tasks that have to do with the state conference and its related activities. For example, in the National Service Project Committee, you must plan fundraisers that take place before and during the state conference to raise money for the American Cancer Society. After working on a committee for one or two years, you should consider applying for a vice chair position, which would allow you to work closely with one of the State Officers. You can apply to be a member or vice chair of a committee using the link below.
One of the most distinguished roles that a TSA member can take on is the position of State Officer. Pennsylvania TSA has 8 positions for State Office: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter, and Sergeant-at-Arms, which are elected positions, in addition to Historian and Parliamentarian, which are appointed positions. You must apply before Friday, April 3, 2021 to become a candidate. But if more than 3 individuals in the chapter want to run, they must be evaluated by the State Officer Candidate Committee. Only then, will they be allowed to participate in the election process at the state conference to be elected or appointed to a State Officer position.
