At the beginning of every year, chapter members must choose 3 to 6 events to compete in. Individuals and teams often choose to participate in the same events. However, due to regional, state, and national restrictions on the number of competitors permitted to compete in the same event, you must complete an individual runoff if there are not enough slots for everyone. A runoff is a preliminary round of competition prior to official competitions that determines who gets to participate in the given event. Runoffs for the regional competition must be submitted by
A week before runoffs are due, a Google Form will be sent out. Please follow these guidelines before submitting:
The submission Google Form will ask for contact information used for conference and chapter registration because once you submit runoffs you are considered part of LM-TSA.
Title all files you submit with the full event name as it appears in the rules followed by your student ID number (ex. Children's Stories s012345). Do not put your name on your runoffs so that we can grade them anonymously.
If your runoff is a write-up, submit it as a PDF (not Word, not shared Google doc, etc. You must convert both to PDFs)
If you need to submit drawings or sketches, take a clear photo and put it on the submitted PDF file to take up one whole page per each photo.
If you have an iPhone, you can scan papers with your Notes app. At the bottom of a Note, click on the ⊕, then “Scan Documents” and follow the app’s directions.
For on-site events without anything to submit, please select that event on the form!
