This is when an egg is released
Luteal Phase: Days 15-28
The lining of the uterus is thickened to prepare for possible pregnancy
If you do not become pregnant, estrogen levels will drop, and the process will begin again
Period blood can vary in color, and it can indicate different aspects of your health

Periods are a normal bodily process that most people with a uterus have, however, there are some common misconceptions about periods. Some of which include:
Periods are very painful normally.
Periods and the cramps that accompany them can be uncomfortable and eased with ibuprofen, however, it is not normal for them to cause extreme pain that disrupts your daily life. If the pain persists, you may want to talk to a doctor.
Periods are dirty and gross.
Periods are a natural bodily process, and are healthy.

Periods are completely normal, and are nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.
