On September 23, 2022 a large portion of the Global Citizen Program hosted a protest on Washington Street halfway through the school day. We stood there for an hour spreading awareness about the threat of climate change and how big of a problem it was. We spread our message to hundreds of people, and had fun doing it!
Over the summers after my freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years I have attended Camp Brave Trails. Brave Trails is an LGBTQ+ camp dedicated to building a safe space for queer youth. I learn so much about myself and my community while I am there, as well as navigating an airport and traveling cross-country all by myself! I am forever grateful for the friends I have made and experiences I had, and I cannot wait to go back this summer!
On May 11th, 2024 I walked with HDAAC in the Holliston 300 Year Parade. We were able to spread mental health awareness to the almost one thousand people that showed up to watch it. I am so proud to be representing such an amazing message, and I hope there will be more opportunities like this in the future!
During spring break 2025, a large portion of GCP went on an agriculture tour of Italy and France, and it was one of the most impactful experiences of my life. Not only did it solidify my love for biology, it taught me so much about who I am in context with the world around me. I met so many new people and experienced so many new things I never would have without this trip. I am eternally grateful for this opportunity and all it has given me.
Throughout all four years of high school, I have been a part of the HHS Compost Club! During the 2025 to 2026 school year, we created a leaf composting bin in one of the courtyards, audited the school for composting needs, and began working with Black Earth Compost, the Holliston school system, and the Holliston sustainability coordinator to bring composting to Holliston High School! I am so proud of all the work we have done, and I know the Compost Club will go on to do great things.
