-Freshman Year-
Intro to Global Citizens - This was one of the first high school classes I ever took, and it was a wonderful introduction to HHS and the problems we face as a community. I was able to make connections with my classmates and got me thinking about how I could use my passions to help the community.
-Sophomore Year-
Service Learning - Throughout this course I learned so much about problems that plague not only Holliston, but the world as a whole. I narrowed down all my interests into the start of my capstone project Cozy Critters.
Fashion Through the Ages - In this wonderful class taught by Ishika Gandhi and Mrs. Frost I learned so much about the modern fashion industry and how its connected to the climate, different cultures, celebrities, social media, and everyday people. It taught me a lot about my clothes and how to responsibly interact with fashion.
-Junior Year-
French IV - This was my sixth year taking French, and by far the most impactful one. Mme Nelson taught me so much more about why the French language works the way it does, as well as delving into the French culture. Although I won't be taking French next year, it still gave me so much a student and Global Citizen.
Adventure Education and Leadership - Even though it is a P.E. class, Adventure Ed taught me so much about how I can sustainable explore the outdoors. We did several projects on the wilderness and sharing it with others, and I now feel confident in my abilities to safely and sustainably go on real adventures with those around me!
Marine Biology - Helping animals is my passion, and through this class I learned so much about our friends in the ocean and how human activity impacts them. This course gave me a lot of ideas about how I can move forward with both my career in biology and my passion for wildlife conservation.
-Senior Year-
AP US Government and Politics - This class about how our government operates, and the forces that drive it, taught me so much about how we function as the United States of America, and how the system can be improved. I learned about the foundational Supreme Court cases of the Civil RIghts Movement, and how social activists changed our government to make the country a safer, more inclusive place for everyone. Going forward, I will use what I have learned about political activism in my future career as a conservationist.
