"One of the most valuable experiences that I have gained from TA (Mathematics) was the opportunity to join competitions such as Singapore Mathematics Project Festival (SMPF). Through this competition, I was only able to work together with like-minded individuals to work on a mathematics project, but I was also able to build important skills such as abstract writing and presentation skills, which would be very helpful when entering a field of mathematics."
"My most memorable moment about TA (Mathematics) was when we had to figure out the mathematics behind the Nim game. I remembered the vivid discussions we engaged with one another on possible winning strategies for the game. In the end, TA (Mathematics) helped expose me to the mathematics behind many things in real life."
"TA (Mathematics) is really fun, you get to write math research papers for SMPF and some SMO training. Writing research papers is an important skill for the future and the SMO training just trains your brain no matter how good you are at math. You will also get to learn how to use Tinkercad for 3D printing and my groupmates and I had a lot of fun trying to plan the design and printing it out."
"I really enjoyed the process of researching on a topic of interest for the SMPF. The guidance we got from the TA (Mathematics) tutors truly equipped me with strong mathematical and presentation skills that allowed me to write a research paper that I was proud to present. It also honed my problem-solving skills which will definitely benefit me in learning mathematics in the long term."
"One highlight of TA (Mathematics) was the SMO training sessions which were very useful and enriching when preparing for SMO, as advanced concepts were covered outside the school syllabus. I also really enjoyed the experience of creating a research project for SMPF as it was self-directed and encouraged independent learning."
"My favourite part of TA (Mathematics) was taking part in the various Math Olympiads, which pushed me to think more deeply and sharpen my problem-solving skills. I also really enjoyed presenting our project at the Singapore Mathematical Project Festival (SMPF), as it gave me the chance to explore math creatively and share our ideas with others."
