Doreen is the Anatomy and Physiology coordinator for NMS; helping oversee the curriculum for the numerous A&P courses that are offered to students pursuing medical careers. Her background in medical science stems from working at a marine mammal hospital. She has been studying marine life for over 30 years. In collaboration with the California Academy of Science, she and her students study the skull morphology and dental pathology of California sea lions. Field work and hands-on education are key components of her teaching.
Alaiyah San Juan is a Junior 1 Biological Sciences major at Dominican University of California, pursuing minors in Kinesiology and Sports Management. She is the captain of the women's basketball team at the NCAA DII institution, starting all games in her collegiate career. She is a DEI representative in the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. After projected graduation in Spring 2025, she intends to continue schooling in order to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy to help athletes return to their sports. She also hopes to continue her athletic career by playing professionally overseas.
Clarence Seludo is a junior 1 at Dominican University of California. He is majoring in Biological Sciences, with minors in Global Public Health and Chemistry. His end goal is to go to Medical school and finish the whole process to become a Pediatrician. He has a passion for helping the youth and educating them in any assistance. Not only for physical problems, but anything mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. He believes that the next generation will be the guiding forefront after him, so it is his job to help to the best of his abilities.
My name is Connor Keighran, and I am majoring in Biology and graduating from Dominican University of California on 5/13/2023. My plan is to work as an EMT for 1 - 2 years and eventually apply to PA school and eventually become a PA. I have always wanted to work in the medical field, and I think PA will be the best route for me.
Pamela Avalos is an 20-years-old Chicana first-generation attending Dominican University of California. Her career choice is to become an Occupational Therapist. She is currently on the path to getting her BA in Biological Sciences and minor in Psychology, and later in the future, she plans to attend the Occupational Program at the Dominican University of California.
Seresa is a third year student at Dominican University of California and is majoring in Biological Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Global Public Health. Her career goal is to become a clinical lab scientist and work in a hospital setting. She enjoys the research she does at California Academy of Sciences and collaborating with her research partners to examine and collect data on fascinating marine mammals like the California sea lion. Outside of school, she enjoys going for bike rides, drawing, and watching Netflix.
