I’m Chris Lopez Mazariegos, originally from San Rafael, California. I’m someone who runs on good coffee, books that pull you in and make you think, and playlists that match every mood.
I’m known for being even-tempered, a little sarcastic in the best way, and quietly determined when I care about something. I value honesty, meaningful conversations, and showing up for the people in my life. I tend to listen more than I talk, but when I connect with someone, I genuinely enjoy learning their story and perspective.
I’m currently working toward my B.S. in Psychology at DUC, with plans to pursue counseling psychology in the future. I’m drawn to understanding how people think, feel, and grow, and I hope to use that knowledge to support others through challenges and change.
As a psychology major at Dominican University of California, I chose DUC because its hands-on, student-centered approach aligns closely with my goal of pursuing counseling psychology. The program’s balance of theory, research, and real-world application allows me to better understand human behavior while gaining meaningful experience through field placements and research opportunities.
I was especially drawn to the small class sizes and the opportunity to build strong relationships with faculty who are actively engaged in the field. This supportive learning environment encourages thoughtful discussion, mentorship, and personal growth, which are essential to my academic development.
