A recommendation by Mr. Schamrowski is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie from the 90's. Acording to Mr. Scham, "TMNT ('90) is the most excellent TMNT film to date and one of the most faithful comic book adaptations put to film. The movie follows the early TMNT comic book's plot but includes changes made for the popular TV cartoon. Practical effects in comic book movies have become a rarity in the film industry, so seeing a costume and puppet master like Jim Henson take the turtles on is a breath of fresh air. His work on the film was one of his final and finest. The one-liners and silliness featured in the film are well-balanced, with age-appropriate darker elements that make the film's stakes more realistic (even for a movie centered on pizza-eating mutated amphibians who practice the ancient art of ninjitsu). "
"Though the pop-culture references from the late '80s and early '90s may fall flat on the younger generations, each family member will enjoy the movie because, at its heart, it is about family and how one draws strength and acceptance from it. It also delivers exciting martial arts action. So, dudes and dudettes, get home, order some pizza, and enjoy this 95-minute comic book movie masterpiece; it is 'one shell of a good time.'" Mr Scham also says he is not ashamed to let nostalgia dictate his pop culture tastes. He enjoys TMNT, movies, music, and basketball. If you want to chat with him about any of this swing by Room 146.
