Sgraffito

I really like the way this project turned out. I think the color and design went really well together. It was a little hard to carve out the pattern because it was really small so I chipped it a little bit. But the mistakes were minor and they weren't very noticeable. Overall I really liked this project and I think it was really fun.

Clay Bowl

This project was really difficult for me and the process was frustrating. The clay was initially pretty dry so it was hard to work with. I wasn't very confident with my stamps because they weren't all lined up perfectly. I didn't think my bowl was going to turn out even when I was painting it. But after it was fired up, I was really surprised with the results and ended up really liking it. I think the colors and design when well together and even though the stamps aren't all even, it still looks good and somewhat intentional.

Front

Thus project was really difficult in the beginning and I didn't think it would work out. I didn't really have a plan, all I knew is that i wanted to make it into the "My Melody" character.

Side

After I did the front, I decided to start the sides. I knew I wanted the back to be darker so I made a fade of pink to gray on the side. Then I added a character from beetle-juice because it's one of my favorite movies. After I used paint makers, I really liked how it turned out.

Back

It took me a while to figure out what to do for the back and I decided to put the castle from Edward Scissor-Hands, one of my favorite songs, and emphasized my initial and added my name. Once it all came together I really liked it and it turned out way better than I expected.

Clay Animal

I liked this project because I like using clay, but it is harder for me. I wasn't sure how to form the shell or make texture. I was really scared my snail would fall apart during the building process or explode in the kiln. Painting it was also a challenge because there were a lot of grooves but I like how it turned out. I think the glossy spray topped off my project.

Foam Realism

This project went okay, it was kind of tedious trying to make it look realistic. My favorite part was probably painting it, but it was difficult to color match. This wasn't my favorite project but I it was still fun. Overall I think it ended up pretty good; it looks realistic from a distance.

Raku Pot

I liked making the structure of this pot even though I made it differently than I first planned. Glazing it was fun at first, but by the second layer I was getting tired of it. I love how the colors ended up together because before it was fired, I was a little iffy. Overall I think think it turned out really pretty and cool.
