India

Preflection:

For this project we are creating portraits of children from an orphanage in India, using one of three mediums (oil pastels, colored pencils, or pencil). I am very excited to create a unique portrait for my child and show them love and care through this project. I can't wait to see all the kids' reactions to receiving their portraits and see the joy it brings to them.

I have really enjoyed experimenting with these three mediums over the past few weeks. I can definitely see my style in all of these as I tried add definition and color to add interest. I have learned that it doesn't necessarily have to look identical to the photo, but it can have a spin on it to add personality. I am choosing to work with the colored pencils as I like how this one turned out the best and I am comfortable with working with it.

Final Product

I really loved working on this project and working on every individual aspect of it. I enjoyed creating dimension and color in his face and also adding a touch of his personality in his pink shirt which is his favorite color. I can't wait to see all the kids' reactions to their portraits and the impact it has on them. I love how this turned out and how much it looks like him. This was one of my favorite projects to do.

I hope Mohammed feels loved when he receives this and will cherish it as a piece that shows we care. I would tell him that I love him and enjoyed seeing his smiling face everyday and I would adopt him if he wanted.
