Introduction to Studio Art

Creative lines

In this project we took nine scribbles that our class drew and we had to turn them into one big picture. It took me awhile to come up with an idea but after sometime I came up with one. I had a lot of fun with this project and I am very happy with the way it turned out.

Clay Jar

This was my first time using clay, so it was a little difficult at first but then I got the hang of it. Glazing and painting it was really fun. I loved the way that it turned out. My favorite part of it is the flowers. Overall I had a lot of fun with this project.

3D Story

For this project we were given a paper bag with random things in it and we had to build a 3D model of something that has happen in our life, with those things. My story is about a time when I went to the beach and there was a shark and sea lion. I used the paper bag for most of it but also used a rubber band and a couple of paper clips.

Clay Bowl

For this project we used clay coils to make a bowl. We started will a plastic bowl wrapped in paper towels, then drew out our design, then we put the coils on. The hardest part was blending all the coils together to get the bowl to stay together. Over all I like the way it turned out

Clay Whistle

This project was a little challenging. There was two parts: make it whistle, then turn it into something. It was very hard to make it whistle, I had to keep starting over. Eventually I got it to whistle. I decided to make the whistle into the oogie boogie man from the nightmare before Christmas movie because I really like that movie. I am very happy with the way it turned out.
